Winners of the UT’s San Diego’s BEST Brunch and BEST Sports Bar awards, this East County hidden gem has dedicated the last five years to the Low-N-Slow Barbecue craft under the mentorship of their local award winning Barbecue Culinary Director, Gene Goycochea. Shawn’s brother, Thomas House is the resident Pit Master who carefully crafts Gene’s recipes into the San Diego centric menu that pleases locals and travelers alike. Under the leadership of General Manager, Eric Olafsen, the Cali Comfort Sports Bar has evolved into a must-see Fight Night destination and local specialty cocktail hangout. Cali Comfort has been quickly recognized for their slow smoked Pork Ribs, BBQ Wedding Beans, “Wicked” Peach Cobbler, California Tri-Tip dishes, their Weekend BBQ Brunch and their annual Amateur Tailgate & BBQ Festival. Their Slow Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich was also recently named a “Top 5” Sandwich in San Diego by food journalist, Keli Daily of the UT.
